AI Rant
________________________________________________________________________________

I see that most of the code written these days is copy pasted from the AI. If
you use it to solve the problem and after chat gives you the solution you say
“oh yes, ok, I understand it, I can do it” this is really bad (and no, you can’t
do it). Fast and cheap is what we all want. If it works today for the immediate
problem in front of you, thats perfect. If it breaks tomorrow, thats fine, just
patch it with another AI solution again.

If you are using AI to understand what a piece of code is doing, to explain
“what does this line do?” with the end goal of understanding the whole thing is
fine. I agree that its even good with whipping up boiler plate bash scripts but
anything that requires some level of complexity, It completely falls apart. but
stop copy and paste code blindly.

After seeing ghibli art everywhere I had this thought. we love AI because its
"democratising creativity". Because we want to be dropped on the top of the
mountain and enjoy the view without having to learn how to climb, which is a
perfectly reasonable thing, even if it cheapens the experience. Or cheapening of
the experience is the whole point?. We are robbing ourselves of the joy that can
only come from putting ourselves through hardship in pursuit of a goal.
